Compare the firm 10A Medium Uthur's Tongue mishap with the soft 0030 Large Uthur's Tongue. See how firmness, size, and a base bubble affect real-world use.
Quick answer
Choose the Medium Uthur's Tongue mishap if you want a shorter, firm 10A toy and can accept a cosmetic base bubble for a lower price. Choose the Large Uthur's Tongue if you prefer a longer, soft 0030 toy and want standard, non-mishap construction.
Firmness changes how the toy handles, not just how it feels
The Medium Uthur's Tongue is firm 10A silicone, while the Large Uthur's Tongue is soft 0030 silicone. Firm silicone holds its shape and resists compression, so you can position it with less support. Soft silicone yields more easily, which can feel gentler but may require more care when inserting or storing. Neither firmness is better in general; the right choice depends on whether you want a toy that stays put or one that gives way.
Size and firmness interact in use
The Medium Uthur's Tongue has a total length of 6.5 inches, while the Large Uthur's Tongue is 7.75 inches long with 5.25 inches usable and a widest shaft diameter of 2.4 inches. A longer, wider toy in soft silicone can feel less imposing than its dimensions suggest because it compresses, but it still needs more room. A shorter, firm toy can feel more direct and is easier to control at the base. The catalog does not list a usable length or widest diameter for the Medium, so compare total length only as a rough guide.
The mishap bubble is cosmetic but affects value
The Medium Uthur's Tongue is sold as a mishap because there is a bubble on the underside of the base. The listing states it is an aesthetic issue that will not impact use. That makes it a reasonable choice if you prioritize firmness and price over a flawless surface. The Large Uthur's Tongue has no listed defect, so you pay more for standard construction. If a visible bubble on the base would bother you, skip the mishap.
Key trade-offs
- Firmness vs. give: Firm 10A stays rigid and is easier to aim; soft 0030 compresses and feels gentler but offers less control. Decide whether control or cushioning matters more to you.
- Size vs. manageability: The Large is 7.75 inches long with a 2.4-inch widest diameter; the Medium is 6.5 inches total with no usable length listed. If you are unsure about girth, the Medium's shorter length is the safer starting point.
- Mishap discount vs. flawless finish: The Medium has a base bubble that does not affect use; the Large has no listed defect. Only choose the mishap if a cosmetic flaw will not reduce your enjoyment.
